Il segno indelebile, che Beethoven ha lasciato per l’eternità nel repertorio per violoncello e pianoforte, è ben evidente nei due capolavori che aprono e chiudono questa celebrazione, abbracciando così due meravigliose composizioni scritte cento anni dopo da Alfredo Casella, in pieno “sogno neoclassico”, e da Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, immerso nella sua infinita fantasia creativa e nel caratteristico lirismo.

The indelible mark that Beethoven left for eternity on the repertoire for cello and piano is clearly evident in the two masterpieces that open and close this celebration. They frame two marvelous compositions written a hundred years later: one by Alfredo Casella, composed in the midst of his “neoclassical dream,” and the other by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, immersed in his boundless creative imagination and characteristic lyricism.
